Multidimentional Modelling

This process uses cubes structures for analysing business data across multiple dimensions which is an Analysis Services multidimensional solution, the default server mode for analysis service is Multidimensional mode, this includes various query and calculation engine MOLAP, ROLAP, and HOLAP storage modes with OLAP data to balance performance with scalable data requirements, an analysis services MOLAP, ROLAP, and HOLAP storage modes with OLAP engine is an industry leading OLAP server that works excellent with a broad range of BI tools. Most of the analysis services deployments are installed as classic OLAP servers.

Features and Benefits of Multidimentional Modelling

The primary and main reason for building and developing an Analysis Services multidimensional model is to achieve fast performance of ad hoc queries against business data, the multidimensional model is composed of cubes and dimensions that can be annotated and extended to support complex query constructions. The developers of BI create cubes to support fast response times and to provide a single data source for efficient business reporting, business intelligence given the growing importance across all levels of an organisation, with the single source of analytical data ensures that discrepancies are kept to a minimum level and even, if not eliminated entirely. An important feature and benefit to using Analysis Services multidimensional databases is integration with widely used BI reporting tools such as Excel, Reporting Services, and Performance Point, as well as custom applications and third-party solutions for clients.
